    Description

    This is a scarce original early American 3 pc mold blown pontiled flint glass decanter from the 1810-1830 era with probably the original 3 mold blown stopper! This early New England flint glass decanter was most likely made at either the Keene Marlboro St Glassworks or the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co.This thin blown decanter has diamond sunburst pattern with ribbed base and neck.....slanted rib band around shoulder with hobnail band below that........... Hand blown in 3 piece mold....sharp open pontil scar on bottom....crude flared ring lip....clear flint glass....8"tall (9 3/4"counting stopper)......The hollow blown 3 mold stopper fits snug and has matching diamond hobnail pattern with sunburst on flat top. Decanter has a hard to see 1/4"hairline spider crack on side; no other damage. some faint inside content haze. Very thin fragile glass. It came from an early New England estate originally...and out of my personal collection.
