Here's a crude early free blown small size wine bottle dug from an 1840s privy ...rare small size only 7 1/2"tall.....sharp sheared lip with applied ring on neck...free blown or hand blown in dip mold, as there are no mold seams....deep sunken kickup bottom with a gnarly jagged chunk of glass which may have been from the pontil rod....olive green.....crudely blown and has a lean to one side...Excellent condition with only a shallow chip on edge of sheared lip; no other damage. A clean bottle with only a bit of light haze. Crude glass with streaks & bubbles. This is a great looking little 1840s wine bottle with lots of character!...
