Antique E H Ashcroft Steam Gauge 5 3/4" Dark Patinated Bezel Glass Intact

Description

You're bidding on an antique steam gauge - marked manufactured by E.H. Ashcroft, Boston, Mass, with 1876 patent date - 5 3/4" diameter at front, 6 3/4" diameter at back, 2 1/4" thick. Bezel has a dark patina, not sure if it's painted or aged. Case is cast iron overpainted in silver. Face is metallic plated with black enameled branding and demarcation - appears to be brass beneath, showing through a bit where there is some loss of enamel on the numerals. glass intact and in good condition. Some residual plumbing still attached at bottom.
