Antique pontiled bottle-RUSSIAN HISTORY-Czarine Alexandra..last Russian empress!

a pretty RARE
offering which does not come up for auction ve
ry often. This bottle is a
milk glass figural
of the
Czarine of Russia
...the
last empress
and
last royalty
of the
Romanov dynasty
, who saw her tragic and violent end when the Russian Revolution occurred in
1918 in
RUSSIA
.
All
the Romanov family were murde
red, children included!
Undoubtedly, this figural bottle must have been
produced after her marriage to Czar Nicholas in
1894
.
It is pontiled, so I am guessing, soon after that event, & probably in commemoration of that event, and of course, while she was ruling with her husband, the Czar. Most authorities on bottles agree that it was produced in France and that this particular CZARINA bottle held alcohol spirits of some kind. (There are other Czarine commemorative bottles which held Candy)
The head section would have been attached to the bust of the bottle with
a paper seal
. As it is now, (without the seal) the head is a bit loose fitting and was held on by putty on the inner rim...so saying this to warn to be careful when placing the head on the shoulders of the bottle! (no pun intended!!)
My research shows that these bottles are valued in one instance at 0-0 & in another, 0-0.  Of course we all know that these valuations are subjective and dated....and also, they go up and down. So I am aware of that! Let the market dictate!
The bottle, with head on, measures 10 1/2" tall (see size comparison with a
regular can of Coke
in the last pic) and weighs 1 lb 10 ozs .THE BOTTLE IS EMPTY!
