Description
Offered here for your kind considerationis an antique original duplicate Bridge/Whist tournament set with 16 "hands" numbered 1 - 16, in a sturdy wooden box with black leatherette applications and ornate metal handle, apparently made in 1900 by the Duplicate Whist Co. in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sold by U.S. Playing Card Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, Sole Agents. EVERYTHING is in fine condition, particularly considering its age. The boards are marked as "PAINE TRAY" and the number of the "hand" such as "2," as shown. The box is about 20.0 by 20.0 by 19.0-cm (8 by 8 by 7
½-inches) and weighs 8-pounds, 4-oz.
The previous owner has added labels on the backs with presumably useful information! These are part of its history so I haven't tried to remove them.
(And no, before you ask, I DON'T play bridge, and I don't know how to play bridge).
