This is a vintage toy cap gun with a bronze finish that I found at a Louisville, KY area estate sale. It is a 1957-1962 Leslie-Henry 44 Gene Autry Named cap gun (see pictures). It is in used condition, far from a museum piece. Not very clean INSIDE. The outer finish looks OK ( see pictures). The Champion Horse grip has A HUGE crack in it on one side, and is MISSING on the other.  There is physical damage that One can see easily see. (see pictures). The trigger mechanism does not work as intended and the one time I pulled it had to be rescued. It does not cock, but I do not think this model was supposed to. not 100%sure what the action is, I have read where some make a ricochet sound-this one does not (see pictures). Don’t know what that would sound like anyway. Some models came with realistic looking bullets that went into the chamber, and could be removed.  Since the chamber on this one is solid, there is no place to put them anyway.
The finish is consistent through, but is rather dull to look at. Not shiny. Does that tell the collectors anything?
I have not in any way tried to clean this up. This is how I found it.
I have two other LH cap guns, one is pristine, an the other just like it that is not as pristine. They are also listed.
WAS at one time A real nice display piece. This vintage Leslie-Henry 44 GENE AUTRY toy cap gun comes as shown in the pictures. Should be of interest to vintage cowboy western TV show toys-cap guns-accessories-memorabilia & vintage Leslie-Henry / Hubley 44 45 cap gun related collectors.
Take a look at the pictures & contact me me with questions. Buyer pays for USPS PRIORITY MAIL USA shipping. I will combine the shipping for multiple auction buyers.
This could  be a nice addition to any collection if it were to be repaired and restored.
This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug.
The above statement is required by ebay.
