    This is an original pre prohibition Hayner Whiskey Combination Lock Stopper bottle from the early 1900 era, complete with its original combination lock stopper and partial neck labels!.... The bottle has sunburst pattern emb 3 times around bottle....sunburst also on bottom...Top of brass combination lock stopper reads
    HAYNER WHISKEY STOPPER PATENTED...
    Rare neck label is torn, but it reads THE HAYNER DISTILLING CO / REGISTERED TROY....FULLY AGED ......Bottle is hand blown in mold.....clear....round with panels around base and shoulder...11 1/4"tall (just under 12"with lock stopper) .....Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. The unique patented combination lock stopper has a little brass knob & arrow pointer that could be pointed to the numbers until the correct combination was found which would unlock 2 little "dogs" or bars which are anchored into a groove inside neck of bottle. The numbers from 1 to 12 are all clearly visible. The brass pointer arrow moves a little, but needs to be lubricated. The lock was designed to keep unwanted users from drinking any of the whiskey locked safely inside. You can find early 1900 advertisements for this Hayner patented stopper bottle online
