Description
The Silver Pony (Kusan 1965) – die-cast, cap pistol resembling the 1873 Colt .45 “Peacemaker” for the younger backyard buckaroo and the first cap gun model ever produced by Nichols Industries, Pasadena, Texas in 1946. This nickel-plated (with little wear), 8 ¾-inch single-shot pistol features both single and double action. Pull the hammer back and it will click and hold, ready to insert a single paper cap. Pull the trigger and it fires like the real Single Action Army Colt. Hammer down – pull the trigger and it fires double action. Smoke floats from the barrel with each cap blast. Beneath the barrel lies a faux ejector rod in front of the non-revolving cylinder mimicking the real Colt Peacemaker. The first Silver Ponies were all metal. Later Silver Pony versions had plastic grips because zinc was scarce due to WW II and the Korean War. Kusan, Inc. of Nashville, Tennessee acquired Nichols in 1965. This rare Kusan variant has white staghorn grips with chrome "Circle N Ranch" medallions.THANKS FOR LOOKING!
