Hayner amber whiskey bottle, Troy Ohio.
This an amber embossed Hayner Whiskey Distillery whiskey bottle from Troy, Ohio. Embossing says HAYNER WHISKEY, DISTILLERY, TROY, OHIO. Bottom embossed with DESIGN PATENTED NOV.30 TH , 1897, and a diamond with 208 inside. Diamond with 2-, 3- or 4-digit number inside was the Illinois Glass Company, Alton, IL (1873-1929). (Numbers found within a diamond on several types of bottles have been matched with catalog numbers found in Illinois Glass Co. bottle catalogs.) Exact period when this type of mark was used is uncertain, but probably sometime in the 1910-1920s period. Has broken cork in top but I am not sure if it is original. About 11 ½” tall with mug base. Several small seed bubbles in glass. Very good condition with no chips or cracks & nice shine to glass.
