    Description

You are bidding on a Vintage (circa 1920’s) Collectible Plumbing Tool. Not sure if it’s boxwood or lignum vitae, but it is a very hard wood. Smooth exterior, nice patina. Review the photos carefully before bidding, please.
Notes about its use: The turnpin was used by plumbers and other workers to flare the opening of a lead pipe so that a second pipe could be inserted. The grooves on the tool indicate where the edges of the pipe were/ how far into the second pipe it was inserted. The dents on the flat end show where the turnpin was hammered. Once the two pipes were joined, they were soldered.
